The Startupper of the year Challenge by TotalEnergies is back in 32 African countries for a special edition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Company!

The aim of this 4th edition is to support and encourage young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to reality in their country of application.

• 1 Winner per category will be rewarded in each participating country
• 4 additional Winners will be selected by an international jury in the Power’Up category

Requirements for TotalEnergies Startupper of the Year Challenge

• You must be between 18 and 35 years old (born between May 1, 1988 and April 30, 2006)
• You must be a resident of the country where you apply 
• A STARTUP Under 3 years old with a registration in the application country no earlier than April 30, 2020
• A BUSINESS IDEA Which could be developed a few months after the challenge

In 2015, the United Nations and its Member States adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which forge a reference framework for 2030 to address the global challenges of poverty, environmental protection, peace and prosperity. TotalEnergies committed in 2016 to help achieve the SDGs and to structure its responsible development approach and make a significant contribution to this collective effort. Thus, aware of the importance of these issues, your project or startup should meet one or more of these objectives.

• Your project is contributing, at its own level, to at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
• Innovation is at the heart of your project. Your solution should be creative and original.
• Your project should be feasible with a clear plan for development and potential for impact.
• Gender equality should be a consideration in your project, promoting inclusivity and diversity.
